Because of abuse by spammers, and by their robots which collect email addresses from web pages, I have found it necessary to change my email address and to remove direct click-through email links from this site. However, you can still email me at the following address:

Please note, however, that I cannot promise to reply to all email messages (or discussion board postings), and when I do reply, it may sometimes take me a long time (possibly weeks or even months). I no longer have as much free time to deal with such matters as I did when I first set up this site, and I have found that in many cases it can be very time consuming to compose a satisfactory and worthwhile reply. Unfortunately, it is quite often the queries or comments that most deserve a reply, those that are the most thoughtful, intelligent, and interesting, that are the most time consuming to handle.

I do not wish to discourage people with a serious interest in my work, or in the subjects of imagery, imagination, and consciousness generally, from contacting me, but I do appreciate it if people have make an effort to look at at least some of the material made available on this site before contacting me directly. It is true that most of my writings here are written mainly for a specialist audience, and may be excessively technical for many people, but my Introduction to the Science and Philosophy of Mental Imagery, and my entry on Imagination from the online Dictionary of Philosophy of Mind are both intended to be accessible for the intelligent layperson. They are both quite brief too. You may well find the answer to your question (or where to look for it) in one of those articles. On the other hand, if those articles make little sense to you, or if what they say seems quite irrelevant to your concerns, then I probably cannot help you. (Even then, you may still be able to find what you seek on a site that is listed on my links pages). - N.J.T.T.
