Course Objectives:
After successful
completion of this course students will be able to
¾ Develop HTML5 Web pages with hypertext
links, tables, forms, style sheets, etc
¾ Develop cascading style sheets for
e-business Web sites
¾ Design and develop e-business Web sites
with HTML5
¾ Understand the server technology
¾ Understand the JavaScript language
¾ Understand Java Applet
¾ Utilize MS FrontPage, HTML5 editors and HTML5
Validators
¾ Develop Web Services programs
Instructional Procedures:
Classroom activities will consist of lecture, example demonstration and
in-class exercises with hands-on experience. The contents taught in class will
be followed by homework assignments, projects and exams.
Assessment of Academic Achievement:
Assignments (20%)
Projects: (16%)
Mid-terms (28%)
Final Exam (36%)
The final grade
will be determined on the above performance.
Grading scale: A 90-100%, B 80-89%, C 70-79%, D 60-69%, F 0-59%
Class Policies:
Projects and
Assignments: To receive full credit a project and an assignment must be
completed on time on the due date. The late penalties will be assessed as
follows:
Up to 24 hours
after time due --- 25% penalty
Over 24 hours after time due --- 100% penalty
Tests: Exams are
cumulative in nature for this programming class. Absence from a test is excused
only in a personal medical emergency. No
makeup exams are allowed without prior approval of instructor.
Class attendance:
Class attendance is required. Program concepts, techniques, and hints are
presented during class time, so class attendance is essential for successful
completion of assignments. Regular attendance will improve your performance.
Academic
integrity: You are expected to do your own work. Cheating on assignments and/or tests
will result in an F for the assignment or test. California State University,
Los Angeles is committed to intellectual integrity and considers academic
dishonesty a very serious offense. Cheating (i.e. substantial help given or
received by a student on a homework assignment, regardless who is at fault)
will be punished and may result in an automatic F.
