INTRODUCTION
I joined the Psychology Department as an Assistant Professor in January, 2009. Prior to my arrival at the CSULA, I was completing a clinical fellowship at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center/Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts.
TEACHING INTERESTS
I enjoy teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students from varied educational and cultural backgrounds. I teach courses related to Marriage Family Therapy, Counseling and Clinical Psychology.
RESEARCH
My primary research interests have focused on multicultural issues in the field of Counseling and Clinical Psychology, especially those related to Asian/Asian American mental health. Currently, my research group at the Multicultural Prevention and Intervention Lab is examining: 1) risk and protective factors in mental health among ethnic minorities and recent immigrants; 2) gender related stress; and 3) intervention for parents of at-risk youth.
