INTRODUCTION

Mary Falvey joined the faculty at CSLA in 1980, and assumed the responsibility of coordinating the program in severe disabilities and inclusive education. She is a national authority on inclusive education for students with and without disabilities. For her excellent contributions as a professor at CSLA, Dr. Falvey received recognition as an Outstanding Professor in 1987 - 88. She was the Director of Student Services for the Charter College of Education 2004-2006. Since July, 2006 she is the Dean of the Charter College of Education. CSLA is an urban campus located in East Los Angeles, with a majority of students representing diverse ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.


TEACHING INTERESTS

Dr. Falvey has taught courses in the credential and masters programs in moderate to severe disabilities and inclusive education. In addition, she has taught advanced courses in the Joint Doctoral Program in Special Education.


RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr. Falvey has authored four books within her field of expertise, including Believe in My Child with Special Needs, Inclusive & Heterogeneous Education: Assessment, Curriculum, and Instruction, published by Paul H. Brookes Publishing Company located in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition, she has co-authored over 20 book chapters and numerous journal articles. She has made over 400 presentations at local, state, national, and international conferences.
