Third Street Promenade Fun Activity 2004 NASA SHARP Program California State University, Los Angeles Reported by: Monica Nemade
It was another action-packed day in Downtown Santa Monica. On Friday July 9, 2004, many people sauntered along one of California’s most attractive and entertaining places- Third Street Promenade. NASA SHARP students were extremely excited to capture a view of the beautiful city scenery. In addition, many wanted to take this opportunity to go shopping for their souvenirs. Third Street Promenade is one of the country’s most flourishing, unique and vivacious shopping, dining and entertainment areas. It is continuing to attract visitors from nearby and around the world.
From watching movies to live theater and street performers, along side of the beautiful Santa Monica Beach, moderate Mediterranean climate, and the Pacific Ocean, everyone felt as if their expectations were exceeded. Some people were mesmerized at the sight of the persistent and talented pianist. Others could not depart from the group of break-dancers and singers. The psychic cat enthralled some NASA SHARP students, while others were more interested in the diverse food. Many people left the spectacular place purchasing several items such as books, jewelry, gifts, clothing, CDs, shoes, and other accessories. Without a doubt, Third Street Promenade was an exciting place to be. Many experienced something new and different and for some, this was the first time they had been exposed to the urban atmosphere and shopping centers. Because this event was enjoyable, several NASA SHARP students have the desire to visit Third Street Promenade once again in the near future.
