INTRODUCTION
I am a psychiatric nurse. I have had various positions as part of this role including: a private practice counselor focusing on adult women who are survivors of childhood incest; group psychotherapy, staff nurse and supervisor on adult inpatient psychiatric units, volunteer with the San Diego battered women's shelter, and Professor in psychiatric nursing.
I am a panel member of the Expert Contant Panel in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing of the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Also, I serve as a Board member of the Los Angeles Group Psychotherapy Society.

TEACHING INTERESTS
Currently, I teach in the following areas: psychiatric nursing (undergraduate and graduate), theme courses (Family Violence and the Psychology and Physiology of Violent Behavior) and communication courses.
My goals in teaching is to share and discuss with students theoretical and clinical ideas about helping those with psychiatric/mental health concerns.

I have completed a research project focusing on the functions of staff nurses on psychiatric inpatient units.
