Qin Guan (Ch'in Kuan)
1049-1100 A.D.
Song-dynasty poet from what is now known as Jiangsu.
In 1074, Qin met Su Shi and became his student. After obtaining the jinqu
degree at the age of 37, Qin embarked on an official career. However, his
association with Su Shi later led to his being given a succession of minor
posts. Qin Guan is acclaimed as one of the most outstanding writers of ci
song-lyrics of the Northern Song and excelled at poems on the subject of
parting and separation.
