About
the Orchestral Program

Director: Jay Zhong
CSULA Chamber Orchestra is the active component of CSULA Orchestral Program. Since its reorganization in 2004, the CSULA Chamber Orchestra is directed by Professor Jay Zhong, with a roster of guest conductors making regular appearances. The ensemble performs on campus every academic quarter, with repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary periods. Besides involving in the training of symphonic repertoire, the CSULA Chamber Orchestra also supports cross-area productions such as choral performance and CSULA Opera.
The Concertmaster in CSULA Chamber Orchestra is sponsored by a special scholarship that allows the selected students to be invited as guest members in regional orchestra that provides Orchestral Internship with CSULA Orchestra Program.
