Materials: Insects and Their Relatives book, chalkboard, “butterfly metamorphosis” worksheets, crayons, glue stick, colored tissue paper, butterfly cut-out.
Time: 40 minutes

(Egg-Caterpillars-Pupa-Adult)
-The teacher will then tape the butterfly metamorphosis worksheets
to the chalkboard.
-The students will have time to observe and ask questions.
-The teacher will then hand-out a copy for each student to have.
-The students must label and color each picture.
Closure: The students will make tissue butterflies. The students
will cut out butterflies and tape colored tissue paper to them. The
butterflies will then be displayed on a bulletin board in the room.
If the students do not have time to finish them, they will be able to complete
them the following day.
Assessment: Students will be graded on their participation
during the class completion of the metemorphosis worksheet. The students
will self assess themselves on their own metemorphosis worksheets.
