How Humans Affect the Environment
Guest Speaker on Exxon Oil Spill

Objectives: SWBAT- Value the importance of a balanced ecosystem.
           - Realize that human action can cause terrible reactions and     understand the importance of thinking beyond the present.
           - Come to the conclusion that everyone doing a small thing can     add up to a lot when people work together.

Materials: The book Oil Spill, guest speaker, Deb Forenger.

Prompt: The book, Oil Spill.

Procedure: Read book first. Brain storm with the kids about ways to prevent oil  spills. Point out the location of the spill, and some of the damage that was  done. Introduce guest speaker.

Closure and Assessment: After the speaker ask the same questions and see if you  get different answers.
