 1.  Students will produce play-doh products and waste.
2.  Students will write their results from their factories.
3.  Students will compose a letter to a local business.
4.  Students will predict the effects of exhaust pollution.
5.  Students will justify their predictions after observing the exhaust activity.

Procedure:
1.  Students will be grouped by four into six different factories.  Each group   will come up with a factory name. (5 minutes)
2.  Each person in the group will draw the position they will have in the group   from a bowl.  The boss will meet with the teacher while the rest of the group   reads the activity.(5 minutes)
3.  The groups will begin working and producing their products. (15 minutes)
4.  The teacher will walk around and encourage competition between factories   by saying "x group has my shipment done." This will give the factories   pressure like real factories face.
5.  Students will answer a few questions at the end of the activity in their   factories.(5 minutes)
6.  Students will return to their seats and predict the effects of putting a white   sock over the exhaust of a car and then running the car. (2 minutes)
7.  This activity will already have already been preformed by the teacher to   safe time and for safety reasons.  The teacher will hold up the sock from the   car and the students will justify their predictions.(3 minutes)
8.  Students will then compose a letter to a local factory or a large factory   discussing the activity they performed, what they found, and ways to reduce air   and water pollution. (rest of class and finish for homework)

Assessment- 1.  Group (factory) questions will be given a check plus, check minus, or   check.
2.  Students will be given a letter grade for their letters.  It must be in correct   format, include their results from their activity and ways to reduce pollution.
