Dr. Joanne Altschuler has taught theory and practice courses at UCLA's School of Social Welfare, at USC's School of Social Work, and at USC's School of Gerontology. She will teach child welfare and social practice courses this Fall in the Department of Social Work.
Her major areas of scholarly interest and concern are gender issues and aging.
Specific research interests include meanings and conditions of work - paid and unpaid - among older women, as well as sexuality and older women.
