There is no particular text book for this course. The students may wish to purchase the book by Abel prescribed by the previously scheduled instructor. I have put on reserve in library my lecture notes, which the students are welcome to copy for their individual use only. We will discuss structured programming using 8088 assembly language. Some of the topics included are: control structures, subroutines and macros (including recursive subroutines, parameter transmission, etc.), data structures (arrays, lists, etc.), file manipulation. I reserve the right to add additional material and/or omit the material suggested above at my option, and without notice. The students are welcome to download some help programs which I have written.
On March 3, 2001, I added additional programs
for implementing a c++ style class array in assembly language.

This year across
this campus and around the CSU system some class days will be cancelled because
of furloughs. A furlough is mandatory un-paid time off, not holidays. Instead,
they are concrete examples of how massive state budget cuts have consequences

These cancelled class days are October 29, November 5, November 24. This may change at any time. An announcement will be made in class if (and only if) a change is required. Remember that you are responsible for knowing all announcements made in class even if you are absent on the day when the announcement is made.
