INTRODUCTION
I am a Professor of Mathematics Education and has been a faculty member here in CSULA since 1998. Formerly I was a K-12 mathematics teacher in New York City, I conduct professional development workshops for teachers at the local, regional, state, national and international levels. I serve as a consultant to school districts, textbook publishers, testing agencies and professional organizations. I have authored many articles and am involved with several grants.
TEACHING INTERESTS
My primary teaching interest is educating our future mathematics teachers in both content area knowledge and pedagogical knowledge.
RESEARCH
My main research interest is in multicultural education focusing in mathematics. Some other interests are: Ethnomathematics, History of Mathematics, Interdisciplinary Curriculum, Technology in Education, Alternative Assessment and Curriculum Development
