Oceanlife


This program will be integrated into an ocean unit in the primary classroom. Students will be presented information on how to distinguish different types of oceanlife in a lesson format. Following the lesson format, there will be a quiz/game as well a constructive session in which the students will be able to create their own species.

Objectives:



1) Distinguish among types of oceanlife and what makes them different
  • Fish
    Scales, gills, & fins
  • Sharks
    Cartilage, Sense of smell, How they swim, What they eat
  • Octopus
    Tentacles, Where they live
  • Dolphins
    Mammals, Blowholes
  • Starfish
    Arms, How they move, Where they live, Regeneration
  • Eels
    Similarity and difference from snakes, Where they live, How they breathe
  • Lobsters
    Exoskelton, Where they live, How they use their claws
  • Jellyfish
How they move, Where they live, They do not have brains

2) Answer questions about the information presented on each animals.
3) Learn about basic fish body parts by constructing their own fish online.

4) Print materials for use in the classroom

5) Students will use links to navigate from page to page

6) Students will visit other sites for information
