The Rocky Mountain Region

Catch your breath if you are coming up here! The Rocky Mountain Region rises west of the Great Plains. These mountains are high and rugged and in some areas, are covered with snow all year long. In some areas, farther down on the mountainsides, you will find grassy meadows. Sheep and cattle like to graze here during the summer. On some of the lower slopes of the mountain you will find large forests of pines and other evergreen trees.
