You have arrived in one of the most flatest places! Yup! The Great Plains Region is mostly flat. It extends from Canada to Mexico and gently slopes upward frome east to west. In some places in the west it is more than 1 mile above sea level!
There are some areas of the Great Plains called "mesas". These areas are flat-topped hills. In other places, steep hills rise like skyscrapers above the plains. These hills are called "buttes".
Traveling by car in this area, you would find mostly vast areas of grassland Few cities or large towns exist in this area. You can travel for miles and not see anyone!
