The Columbia Plateau Region
You actually found this little area! Good to see you! You have arrived at the Columbia Plateau Region. This region is named for the Columbia River that flows through it. Thousands of years ago, lava poured from openings in the earth and formed the Columbia Plateau. As the lava cooled, it hardened. As years and years of wind and water wore away at the lava, it became a dark soil that is ideal for growing crops. Thus, if you visit northern parts of this area, you will find rolling hills covered with wheat fields.
