INTRODUCTION
David B. Peterson is coordinator of the B.S. in Rehabilitation Services at Cal State LA., and also teaches in the MS in Rehabilitation Counseling. He has been affiliated with several of the nation's top graduate programs in rehabilitation counseling and psychology. He also provided significant university, national, and international service to the rehabilitation counseling and psychology communities, including: Consultation for the World Health Organization (WHO) and the American Psychological Association (APA) on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF); a gubernatorial appointment to Iowa's Behavioral Science Examiner's Board; chair-ships for Division 22 of APA's Practice and Social & Ethical Responsibility Committees and the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association’s (ARCA's) Council on Research and Knowledge; Vice Chair for the Council on Rehabilitation Education’s (CORE’s) Commission on Standards and Accreditation; and as a program accreditation site visitor for APA, CORE, and the Council on Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP).

TEACHING INTERESTS
Course development and instruction focused on applying psychological principles to working with people with a broad range of disabilities, including 45 course preparations in 21 content areas within programs accredited by the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE), the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), and the American Psychological Association (APA).

RESEARCH
Dr. Peterson’s programs of research address two primary areas: the clinical implementation of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF), and computer-based training in clinical problem-solving: ethical decision-making, which have contributed to 42 scholarly products, and 39 state and national presentations at professional conferences. He has directed five research/training grants totaling over $1,300,000, and he has participated in eight editorial commitments to peer-reviewed journals.
