The last and newest room is the "Sound Cage." This anechoic chamber
was built just this year and the set up is most elaborate. The Cage houses
a pentium computer that controls stimulus through a sound card and a set
of relays. The arragement of stimulus is on a horizontal array that surrounds
the participants over a 12 feet diameter span. The use of lights and speakers
can be mounted on the apparatus not only horizontally but vertically also.
This room had a lot of history ranging from the use of a self contained
motorized boom to the use of I-beams.
