Toddlers and preschool children with significant disabilities are increasingly being served in community based programs. The Project Support model is based on the assumption that these children deserve high quality support to achieve the goals of full participation in daily activities, the development of social relationships, and successful achievement of Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) goals and outcomes. The project also assumes that effective support is best provided by individuals who are well-trained, not only in early childhood special education and early intervention, but also in collaborative consultation, conflict resolution, and specific inclusion support strategies. |
