Tacit Knowledge Transfer Project
The "Tacit Knowledge Transfer Analysis" project is conducted by Milan Frankl, B.Sc. M.Sc., MBA.
Milan is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at the University of Victoria, British Columbia,
Canada.
The purpose of the "Tacit Knowledge Transfer Analysis" project is to explore various
forms of tacit knowledge transfer when making business decisions while using rules of thumb.
A rule of thumb is defined as "A principle with broad application that is not intended to be strictly accurate or reliable for every situation."
Tacit knowledge transfer is identified in this project through an analysis of rules of thumb that
are applied during the process of making decisions and action plans in response to a wide range
of business scenarios.
You have been approached to take part in this study because you were identified by your business
association as a senior executive of a small or medium sized Canadian business.
If you have any questions about the "Tacit Knowledge Transfer Analysis" project you may contact Milan by email

Currently, little is known about the dynamics involved in the tacit knowledge transfer process during
business decisions. The potential scientifical benefits of your participation in this study include
improving our understanding of tacit knowledge transfer under various circumstances. Possible personal
benefits for you include early access to some of the aggregated results of the study.
