INTRODUCTION

Hello and welcome to my web page! I am pleased to be completing my second year here at Cal State Los Angeles. It has been a great year, filled with meeting new faculty and students and learning about the university. I'm enjoying teaching the BASW and MSW students in our School of Social Work and I look forward to many happy years here.

TEACHING INTERESTS

I teach Micro Practice, Field Practicum, and the Recovery in Mental Health elective courses with the MSW students. My main areas of focus with BASW students have been in the areas of interviewing and communicating as a social worker and developing writing skills they will need in order to be succesful in the social work profession. Working with MSW students, second year, as they are preparing their theses and getting ready to launch into the work world, and new BASW grads who are looking for those first jobs, is especially gratifying. I enjoy the dedication and commitment CSULA students bring to their academic efforts. My teaching goals include continuing to improve my course syllabi and assignments to reflect the ever-developing needs of the field and to enhance the learning experience of our CSULA students in a most effective manner.
