Andrei Verona obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Bucharest, Romania
(in 1966, 1971 respectively). Before joining California State University, Los Angeles he held
positions at the Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy and INCREST (both in Bucharest, Romania),
at the Max-Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn, Germany, at the Institute for Advanced Study
in Princeton, NJ, and at the Ohio State University at Columbus, Ohio. He published more than 30
articles and books in the areas of Differential and Algebraic
Topology, Lie Algebras, Lie Group Representations, and Nonlinear Analysis.
