Professor Bloom's Links

The Cal State LA Broadcasting Program's Web Site

This is the web site for the program that I teach in. I'm currently building this site.

A Class On The Web

An electronic blackboard that I built for use in workshop and classroom presentations. The first use of this site was as part of a three day Faculty Development Institute on June 24, 25 and 26, 1996. This site was also used for a workshop presentation that I made on December 7, 1996 at the Classroom Telecommunication Conference sponsored by the Association for Classroom Technology.

Professor Video's Home Page

This was my first home page. I built it 6 months before home pages where available on my campus server.

Faculty Web Resources Project

This is an evolving site that was built for a series of faculty workshops, on using the web, that I co-lead with Penny Semrau from The Charter School of Education and James Heideman from The School of Engineering and Technology.

The Electronic Multimedia Arts Institute

This is a site that I built as part of the lottery funded project that Professor Penny Semrau and I worked on.

Z-Axis Entertainment

Z-Axis Entertainment is the current home for the series of hour long PBS documentaries that I have been working on for the last eight years. Computer Illusions is the latest installment in this ongoing series, the three older shows are available from Voyager on laser disc. Check out this well designed web site.

Larry Burke-Weiner's "Quiet little A&P at the end of the road"

This is a amazing site on several levels. It's beautiful, a wonderful example of graphic photo illustration on the web. A moving and often chilling interactive non-linear short story. And it's maybe the first real glimpse of the future of writing, illustration and poetry in the wired age. Larry is a former student of mine, a dear friend and extremely creative.

The Internet Movie Database

The best cinema database that I have found and a great place to explore movie trivia and track film careers.

The Ultimate TV List

Interesting for the same reason as the Mississippi site (this is the TV version), although not yet as comprehensive.

Internet Literacy Consultants

Everything you need to know about terms, file formats and other fascinating web stuff.

Michael G. Dolence and Associates

Michael G. Dolence, an old friend, specializes in the transformation of institutions of higher education and regional, state and national systems.

Darren Bloom's Skunk Works Page

We made the web a family project of sorts. This is my son's web page. He is very interested in high performance aircraft design, the violin, running and science fiction.

Cindy Bloom's Miz Show Biz Page

This is my wife's satirical home page. A spot for some TV/WEB humor.

Baby Aaron's Home Page

This is our baby son's page. Stay tuned, pictures and more on the way. This page is currently under construction.

For searching the web this is a good place to start, just enter your search terms in the window above and click on "Yahoo Search". Yahoo is the place where you can find web sites that want to be found. Once you have your Yahoo results you can expand your search by making use of some other search engines, like Alta Vista, Lycos and WebCrawler that Yahoo provides links to at the bottom of your page of results.
