-
Corduroy Red
-
A site for purchasing my cd and downloading mp3 samples. Evan Flournoy
named it after his ex-girlfriend. Great name!

Recording and Gear
Home Recording
-
Tips on multi-track home recording on a budget. There's a bunch of good information on this site and links to others.
Musicians Friend
-
World's Largest Direct Mail Music Gear Company. Look for products here
then buy them cheaper somewhere else. Good place for guitar strings and
other small miscellaneous items. they have a really good, free, catalogue. I recommend buying expensive
stuff through the mail because it's much cheaper. Just not here.
Oasis CD
-
Oasis provides CD replication / CD manufacturing, CD duplication and cassette
manufacturing for musicians, record labels, and the software industry. They have some cool ways to package CDs.
They will usually guarantee national distribution (whatever) and throw in some free posters. This shouldn't be the primary
motivation for purchasing from them however. There's lots of duplication places, but these guys have pretty good service.
Sam Ash Music
-
Buy your gear here because I do! They have a showroom in West Hollywood, but it's not the same company.
These guys will beat any price. they even have a 45 day price guarantee, which I have used. Plus, there's no sales tax. You can't lose.
Sometimes the salesmen are boorinsh on the phone but it's worth the savings. I sound like a commercial.
Guitar Center
- The Hollywood music store. Lots of attitude! This is a great way to spend an afternoon.
They have a walk of fame outside the store with musicians' footprints and stuff. This place is like a huge toystore.
Don't even think about getting decent customer service though. I usually have to take a shower after I get home because I feel so dirty after walking out!
Still, a good place for small items like strings and a great place to try out equipment>
The Recycler
-
The mecca for used gear and used musicians if you want to start a band. Also a great place to buy or sell used equipment.
I bought a guitar and an amp off of here. You can sometimes find brand new stuff for cheap. You can find anything in LA on this site: apartments, houses, cars, etc.
