Test Preparation

Many students who are on their way “to the next level” – in their education, in their careers, or in their professions --  may face a high-stakes test, the GMAT, the GRE, the CBEST, or the like, to get there.  By preparing to maximize their test performance, students will set themselves up for success.  Through a contractual relationship with the BTPS Testing, a California company started in 1973, we are able offer test preparation workshops on the CSULA campus for the following exams:  CBEST (California Basic Education Skills Test); CSET (California Subjects Exam for Teachers) Multiple Subjects ; GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test); GRE (Graduate Record Exam); as well as two professional tests:

BTPS test preparation workshops are generally scheduled on consecutive Saturdays or Sundays before a scheduled test date and are taught by fully-credentialed teachers with advanced degrees. The course fee includes test preparation books and materials, and many of the workshops include a “free repeat policy,” meaning that students may retake the workshop free of charge is they do not pass the exam on their first try.

Beginning in January 2012, we will begin offering test preparation for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) in coordination with The Princeton Review. Classes will be held on the Cal State L.A. campus and taught by Princeton Review instructors. If you are not satisfied for any reason, you can take the class again for free, and if your score does not increase, The Princeton Review will refund your money. Learn more about The Princeton Review Promise.

In addition, we offer review courses for the following examinations:

  • EIT (Engineer in Training)
  • PE/EE (Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering).

All of our test preparation courses cover the most recent versions of examinations. They familiarize students with each subject type and give important insights into subject areas.
