The California State University system requires that all international students (F-1/J-1) be continuously insured with an approved policy of comprehensive health insurance. You may purchase the policy online. If you purchase an insurance policy from a different insurance company, it must meet Cal State L.A. requirements. More detailed health insurance information can be found on the International Office website.
All Study in L.A. students must pay the premium to purchase health insurance from the provider currently approved by the University:

The premium for International Student Health Insurance is due directly to the insurance company that you choose. Coverage for the spouse or children of the student, costs an additional premium. Students must present Proof of Insurance prior to receiving their course schedules or attending classes. We cannot make exceptions.
