Teach for Us

Although there are no current openings, the College of Extended Studies and International Programs (CESIP) seeks well-qualified instructors for new appointments as Instructors in its English Language Program (ELP) from time to time.  When vacancies exist, new instructors are typically hired to teach one or two courses during a one-to-two-week short program or during a ten-week academic term.  All ELP Instructors are classified as temporary and part-time; they are hired on the basis of a Letter of Appointment.

Required Qualifications: A Master’s degree in TESOL, Education, or a related field, and teaching experience in the field of teaching English to speakers of other languages.  (A related Master’s degree + TESOL certificate may be deemed the equivalent.) Cross-cultural sensitivity, strong written and oral communication skills, and familiarity with classroom instructional technology are also required.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in teaching in a college-level Intensive English Program and experience in teaching or learning a language other than English.

To apply: Please send or e-mail a current Curriculum Vitae, including references, and relevant transcripts or certificates (unofficial is acceptable).  If employment is offered, a CSULA application will need to be completed and three letters of recommendation will be required.
