Three-Summer Master of Music in Choral Conducting (MMCC)
By completing three seven-week summer residency sessions, together with 12 quarter units in regular terms at CSULA or another accredited university, working music teachers, international students and others with scheduling conflicts or location constraints can earn the Master of Music in Choral Conducting (MMCC) degree, accredited through the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). Each intensive summer session prepares the student in choral pedagogy, performance practice and applied vocal/choral training.
One week of the program consists of the Summer Choral Festival week, which provides singers and conductors an intensive week-long session of classes, rehearsals, guest lectures, and coaching sessions leading to a Saturday evening choral performance. A guest composer in residence is typically featured. More information about the 2013 Festival to be posted soon.
