Like most extension offices, the Division of Extended Education does not offer financial aid to students. However, money is sometimes available from private sources like those listed below. Please note that loans are strictly the responsibility of the student and the lender and that Extended Education assumes no liability.
The Cal State L.A. Federal Credit Union loans money to Extended Education students on lines of credit up to $3,500 for those who qualify. Visit their website at http://www.calstatela-fcu.org or contact Alicia Castro at (323) 505-2600 for more information.
The Educational Resources Institute (TERI) of Boston, Mass. is a private foundation that loans money to Extended Education students. Visit their website at http://www.teri.org or call them at (800) 255-8374. Their address is:

Wells Fargo Education Connection Loan
- This loan program is a private loan program.
- The loan is credit-based, not need-based.
- All Extended Education students, taking non-credit or credit courses, are eligible.
- Interest rate is Prime plus from zero to six points depending on your credit rating.
- Minimun loan is $500.00 and Maximum loan is $20,000.00.
- You will need to obtain a letter from the program coordinator verifying that you have been enrolled in our program, giving your name, SS#, anticipated dates of enrollment, and classes to be taken, signed by the program coordinator and faxed to 800-456-0561. After you apply, request this letter from the program coordinator, and let Wells Fargo know that Extended Education cannot issue a formal bill for the courses, nor is there a form for showing your schedule, but that you have requested the verification letter.

CHASE EDUCATION ONE Continuing Education Loan
- This is an unsecured, credit-based loan program.
- A co-signer may be necessary if your income is not sufficient.
- Can borrow from $1,500 - $30,000 per year ($100,000 cumulative limit).
- Students can be full or part time.
- Funds sent directly to the student.
- Interest rate is LIBOR (London Interbank Offered Rate) plus a margin.
- If attending half time or more, repayment can be deferred. If less than half time, repayment begins 180 days after loan is disbursed.
