Sponsored jointly by Extended Education and the Institute of Retail Management, this certificate program prepares students for management careers in the retailing industry, one of the most dynamic fields in California. The program offers opportunities for positions in merchandising, store management, finance, sales, distribution, information systems, and human resources. It also prepares entrepreneurs who wish to operate their own retail business. Non- matriculated students (those not officially admitted to the University) may enroll through Open University with the consent of the department and the instructor.
Certificate Requirements
A minimum of 24 units: 16 in required courses and 8 in electives. Upon completion of the courses with a GPA of at least 2.0, students earn a certificate authorized by Extended Education and the Institute of Retail Management.
