This innovative six-course program helps professionals from varied backgrounds master the skills necessary to be qualified parent educators. The program provides many benefits, including:
- A certificate from Extended Education and the School of Health and Human Services.
- Transferable credit of 24 upper-division units upon departmental approval.
- A 10% discount on enrollment fees for three or more participants in the same class from the same organization.
Target Audience
Professionals from the fields of nursing, religious education, family therapy, teaching, social work, law enforcement, judicial and allied disciplines whose work involves parent education.
Admission Requirements
An A.A or A.S. degree. Note: Applicants must submit a certificate program application and college transcripts to the coordinator prior to registration.
Certificate Requirements
After completing their coursework with at least a 2.5 GPA, students earn a Certificate of Completion. Evaluation is based on class participation, outside assignments, quizzes, observation, term papers, class presentations, group reports, and exams.
