Here is a list (by no means complete) of associations which may be helpful to paralegal students and graduates in and around Los Angeles.
American Association for Paralegal Education (AAfPE)
Establish in 1981, AAfPE is a national organization serving paralegal education and institutions which offer paralegal education programs.
California Alliance of Paralegal Associations (CAPA)
CAPA is a statewide non-profit, mutual benefit corporation dedicated to the advancement of the paralegal profession and the proposition that paralegals gain strength through alliance.
Los Angeles Paralegal Association (LAPA)
One of the nation's premier local paralegal organizations, the 1, 100-member Los Angeles Paralegal Association offers a strong benefits package for its members and dozens of continuing legal education programs.
Members of the Los Angeles Paralegal Association (LAPA) are eligible for a 10 percent discount on tuition for classes. To obtain a discount, students must submit proof of current LAPA membership on the day they register.
National Association for Legal Assistants (NALA)
NALA is the leading professional association for legal assistants, providing continuing education and professional certification programs for paralegals.
National Federation of Paralegal Associations, Inc. (NFPA)
National Federation of Paralegal Associations, (NFPA) is a professional organization of state and local paralegal associations.
The Orange County Paralegal Association (OCPA)
The Orange County Paralegal Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to furthering the paralegal profession.
American Corporate Legal Assistant Association (ACLAA)
The American Corporate Legal Assistants Association ("ACLAA") is a non-profit, professional organization formed in 1992 to provide a voice for corporate in-house legal assistants in the furtherance of their professional development and growth.
