    This introduction to popular multimedia titles covers a host of topics, including interface design, interactivity, immersion, screen design, embedded tools, break-out problems, digital motion video, virtual reality, CD-ROMs and the Web. It also discusses multimedia categories, such as games, tutorials, simulations, magazines, and presentations, and it explores applications in business, training and publishing. Students receive hands-on experience with some of the most current titles in multimedia.

    Designing Multimedia Web sites introduces the creative process for inventing interactive multimedia/web titles. This course explores activities such as brainstorming for multimedia/web ideas, writing project descriptions, storyboarding, and prototyping multimedia/web designs.

This course is a beginning, step-by-step, hands-on learning experience using Macromedia Dreamweaver to create professional, industry quality Web sites, with an easy-to-use graphical interface. Dreamweaver offers many features to make designing pages easier. Import a variety of multimedia file types at the click of a button, select colors from a Web-safe patette, and transfer files to a remote file server from within the program.

    The course introduces students to the basics of digital graphics, including digital photography with QuickTake cameras, using a flat-bed scanner, and editing photorealistic graphics with Adobe PhotoShop.

Students learn how to use digitized video and audio for playback on the computer using QuickTime, Windows Media Player and Real Networks. Topics include digital video and audio capture, playback, file conversion and multimedia/web usage.

Flash uses a graphical interface, timelines, and frames to create simple or complex files, including buttons and rollovers. To add dimension and interactivity, use Macromedia Flash Player to export these animations to be viewed in a web site or multimedia project.
