Los Angeles is rapidly shifting from an aerospace/military economy to a service/high-tech economy. A large number of industries ranging from entertainment to science and, from education to software is being revolutionized by the new interactive technologies. Multimedia is the merging of graphics, text, video, and sound into one product which is controllable by a computer. The Multimedia Certificate Program is both practical and innovative in providing students with real-world training for new careers in a dynamic field. The program offers students
- Hands-on experience with the software tools used to produce multimedia
- Techniques and processes used in multimedia design
- Careers in the multimedia industry
The Multimedia Certificate Program meets the needs of industry trainers and others who want to expand their careers with training in multimedia design and production. Students entering the program should be experienced with software programs such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and/or draw/paint programs.
Admission Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) An application form showing education, training and/or work experience
- Computer literacy with word processing and other common software
- Access to a computer for work outside of class
Certificate Requirements
Completion of a minimum of 12 Continuing Education Units (CEU) and presentation of a digital portfolio of coursework to the Program Coordinator for review and approval. It is possible to complete the program in one year. After finishing the program requirements, students earn a Certificate of Completion.

Students may enroll in individual online courses without having applied for admission to the program, and after completing 6 courses, and a portfolio project, can earn a Certificate of Completion. |
