Course Schedule
Developed by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and offered in cooperation with the Division of Extended Education this eight-course certificate covers the areas of health and welfare, retirement, human resources, compensation, and other topics related to employee benefits. This program is designed for those seeking a new career path in human resource management, or those working in human resources and who are interested in advancing into managerial positions through the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification.
The program enables you to develop new skills and obtain current up-to-date information in your existing human resource management position. It will help you enhance your existing human resource expertise in group benifits, retirement plans or compensation management.
The program is offered in cooperation with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an industry leader in employee benifit and compensation education. Only eight courses are required to obtain the CEBS certification.
Target Audience
This certificate program is valuable for students who want to
- acquire new skills in their existing human resource management positions
- develop a different career path in human resource management
- enhance existing human resource expertise in a specialized area of knowledge
Admission Requirements
Applicants must have high school diploma or equivalent and possess the ability to undertake college-level study. A general knowledge of human resource management is desirable.
Certificate Requirements
After completing all eight courses and passing all eight examinations, students earn a Certificate of Completion from the Division of Extended Education and receive the CEBS designation from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School. Students who elect to take only individual courses receive a Letter of Completion for each course from the Division of Extended Education.
Examination Requirements
Students who wish to become CEBS registrants and apply for national CEBS examinations must pass a computer-based examination for each course conducted at Prometric Technology Centers around the U.S. Each examination costs $265 ($245 if purchased along with study materials), plus a one-time $125 registration fee.
