We are here to meet your special educational needs and interests. Extended Education, often called Continuing Education, allows you to take classes with a minimum of paperwork and a maximum of convenience. Our opportunities for learning include:

• Professional Development
  These are individual courses and groups of courses that increase your job skills, or get you started in a new job area. Look in the table of contents for the area that interests you, or browse through the pages to find something new. CSULA Alumni Association members get a 10% discount* on Extended Education classes. • Certificate Programs
  These take you through a series of courses that give you substantial expertise. You also get the formal recognition of a certificate of your accomplishment. Featured Certificates include:
  

  Paralegal Studies Interested in a career in the law?—Become a paralegal! Come to the program open house to find out more on Thursday, October 18, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. on campus in the Golden Eagle West, Room 217. Textile: Production and Management Legal Interpretation and Translation Business Management (On-line)

• Open University
  Also called Concurrent Enrollment, this allows you to take many of the classes that regular students take. The advantage is that you do not need to go through the admission process for regular students. This is a convenient way to sample the courses in an area that interests you or complete a few courses you need for a degree.
• English Language Program
  (Formerly the American Culture and Language Program)
  This intensive ESL program can enhance your English language skills to prepare you for university work, job advancement and personal growth. Classes are offered five hours a day, five days a week in reading, writing, grammar, conversation, and listening and pronunciation. TOEFL preparation and business English are also offered. The I-20 form is issued for international students. Field trips are included in the curriculum.
• Life Long Learning
  From choral music to automotive mechanics. From improving your English to reading Cervantes in the original. From history to current affairs. For your personal enrichment as well as professional progress, call on Extended Education at California State University, Los Angeles. Look for changing offerings in our bulletin each quarter and on our website.
