Description
Robert Olsen's nocturnal palette creates a fluorescent noir out of the abandoned facades of Los Angeles. Many of his works are of a night-scape punctured by isolated beacons of light, where a vacant bus stop or a gas station orb look like remnants of human activity surrounded by darkness. The stillness Olsen created in his work, typically from a single undisclosed light source, transforms the banality of any object into a symbol of our fears and anxieties.
The paintings selected for this exhibition, provided by Robert Olsen's family and close friends, will be a cross section of work spanning his career including his most recent and unfinished body of paintings.
