The Pat Brown Institute at Cal State LA will hold its biennial post-election conference, "Election 2018: It’s On!"
While midterm elections are often overlooked, this year is different. The political struggle is unusually intense, and California is very much at the center of the national conversation. Our Election 2018: It’s On! conference will be an invaluable opportunity for those in and around politics to understand what happened, why it happened and what it means going forward. We will address the outcome of local and state elections and issues such as voter turnout, the gas tax and the direction of the next Congress.
Ronald Brownstein, Atlantic Media’s editorial director for strategic partnerships and a senior political analyst for CNN, will provide the 2018 PBI Distinguished Lecture. Other confirmed participants include Carla Marinucci of Politico, Pilar Marrero of La Opinión, Dr. Matt Barreto of Latino Decisions, Janet Clayton of Edison International and Southern California Edison and Adam Nagourney of the New York Times.
