Description

This one-of-a-kind musical clinic will offer all the participating junior and high school guitar ensembles and music directors a unique opportunity to receive supportive instruction and feedback from world renowned classical guitar instructors.

During the festival, each registered ensemble will have an opportunity to have a one-hour instruction in a master-class setting. The students will perform their prepared repertoire and will be coached and commented on their performance. Various musical elements will be addressed including musical issues such as rhythm, note production, phrasing, musical expressions and physical appearance of the ensemble, such as proper sitting positions and effective stage appearance, among others.

During this unique opportunity students will be able to observe other ensembles, meet international artists and industry professionals, new friends and learn about the music programs at Cal State LA. In addition, any qualified high school students will be eligible to participate in the competition component of the festival. This will give another opportunity to more advanced students to perform, receive feedback and advance their performance.
