The Gay Second Generation: How Filipino and Latino Gay Men Navigate Sexual Identity in Schools

Much of the discourse on LGBT students in schools focuses on bullying, however, less attention is paid to the creative strategies they employ to evade harassment. In this talk, Dr. Anthony Ocampo (Sociology, Cal Poly Pomona) examines how the strategies that Filipino and Latino gay young men use in schools are shaped by their institutional context and racialization experiences on campus.
