California State Controller John Chiang will discuss opportunities to strengthen financial leadership across California’s diverse industries on April 10 at Cal State L.A., as part of a Civic Leadership Speaker Series, themed “Leadership and Financial Literacy for the 21st Century.
State Controller Chiang was elected in November 2006 to serve as California’s Chief Fiscal Officer. As controller, he is the chair of the Franchise Tax Board and, during even-numbered years, the State Lands Commission. He serves on 81 boards and commissions including CalPERS and CalSTRS, two of the nation’s largest public pension funds.
