Civic Leadership Speaker Series

California State Controller John Chiang will discuss opportunities to strengthen financial leadership across California’s diverse industries on April 10 at Cal State L.A., as part of a Civic Leadership Speaker Series, themed “Leadership and Financial Literacy for the 21^st Century.

State Controller Chiang was elected in November 2006 to serve as California’s Chief Fiscal Officer. As controller, he is the chair of the Franchise Tax Board and, during even-numbered years, the State Lands Commission. He serves on 81 boards and commissions including CalPERS and CalSTRS, two of the nation’s largest public pension funds.
