California Action Coalition Summit

Community and consumer partners will gather at the California Action Coalition Summit on Oct. 30 to discuss how nursing is advancing health care in California. Hosted by Cal State L.A. and the California Action Coalition, the event will include both national and statewide updates to the Institute of Medicine report, which focuses on preparing a better educated nursing workforce to meet the demands of an evolving health care system.

The keynote speaker is Dr. Susan Hassmiller, senior adviser for nursing for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and director of the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action. Other speakers will discuss education, leadership, diversity and inclusion, inter-professional collaboration, transition to practice, and new roles for nurses.
