Description

"American Sabor: Latinos in U.S. Popular Music/Latinos en la Música Popular Norteamericana," features bilingual stories of communities and music from the Eastside, Texas region, New York and beyond, from the 1940s to the present.  It tells the history of the profound influence of Latino communities on popular music. Visit the exhibit and share your stories and memories now, so that they may be preserved for the future. A film crew will be on-site to record. At the end of the exhibit, the Smithsonian Institution's Traveling Exhibit Service will collect the stories which will be preserved by the US Library of Congress for posterity. We invite all generations, from those who were teenagers in the 1950s to those who are teenagers today, and everyone in the middle, to preserve their story.
