The eLPS Center at CSULA supports faculty in the application of appropriate pedagogy and computer-based educational technologies as tools of instruction both in the classroom and at a distance. To accomplish this mission, eLPS
- provides a campus resource for instructional technology integration, instructional design for distance learning, and teaches faculty members the skills for those technologies that support these efforts,
- offers workshops and one-on-one tutorial support that addresses pedagogy and technology integration planning, course redesign and development, and technical skill-building,
- provides administration for the distance learning management system and other web-supplemented course offerings, and
- researches and disseminates new instructional technologies and teaching strategies to enhance learning outcomes through the integration of technology in instruction.
The eLPS Center operates an up-to-date faculty computer lab, complete with high-performance workstations arranged for individual and collaborative activities. Staffed by a Center director, lab manager, and knowledgeable, patient Student Technology Assistants, eLPS supports faculty at all levels of technical proficiency. eLPS maintains state-of-the-art equipment available for faculty use in designing and developing digital media projects that enhance technology-mediated instruction. eLPS staff is available in person, online, and by telephone, to guide and assist faculty through this process of designing, developing, and teaching with technology.
