Health Insurance

All international students enrolling in the English Language Program are required to obtain Health Insurance. Policy prices vary by term.

  • A Cal State LA Health Insurance plan provided through Ascension may be purchased here
  • Students must purchase insurance on or before Registration Day. Students will be required to present proof of insurance prior to receiving their course schedules or attending classes
  • **Insurance is payable directly to the insurer, not the university

Note: Applicants must demonstrate that at least $25,550 is on deposit and available for their use as students. 

For students who wish to bring a spouse or children with them, the minimum bank funds requirement will increase by USD $4,000 for a spouse and $2,000 for each child. In order to request the Dependent (F-2) Forms I-20, the student must supply a Marriage Certificate for the spouse and a Birth Certificate for each child.
