Risk Management

Risk Management's primary responsibilities include protecting the assets of the University through a number of varied loss control activities. The department develops, implements and maintains comprehensive loss control policies and procedures to help reduce or eliminate primary exposure to liability losses.

Major areas of service include:

  • Management of all Campus Insurance Programs
  • Liability Claims Administration
  • Coordination of the State Vehicle Driver Program

State Vehicle Program

CSULA Defensive Driver Training module. The online program is approximately one and a half hours long, requires completing and submitting a State Vehicle Driver Program Enrollment Form (State Vehicle Driver Program Enrollment Form ), and includes bookmark participant progress. Send, or bring, the enrollment form to the Risk Management Office at CY Building Room 244. To get to the Defensive Driving Fundamentals module you must first have Acrobat Adobe on your computer. If you do not have Acrobat Adobe please contact your IT person responsible for your area to assist in downloading the software. Once the program is in place click on the link (above) and log-in. The log-in process will get you to the module launch page. Find the SELECT button at the top of the page; a drop down box will have 3 columns put a check in the second and third columns, Courses and Title, hit DONE. Next in the SEARCH box type in Defensive Driving Fundamentals, click enter. Next choose either one of the two modules and go through its program. In the MORE ACTIONS, after completing the course, choose view certification. At the completion of the Defensive Driving Fundamentals course please do not forget to download, print and forward a copy of the certificate of completion document. The copy authenticates your attendance and completion.
