Ricson Chude is a professional engineer working for Southern California Edison in the Grid Technology Innovation group of the Transmission & Distribution division. In his position, he is responsible for the identification and evaluation of emerging technologies that support SCE’s transmission, distribution, and substation operational objectives, including the effective integration of distributed energy resources such as solar PV and energy storage. He leads innovation by collaborating with Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratories, Clean Tech Incubators, Start-Ups, and top research universities to guide and support technology innovation and development of industry standards.  

He is the current President of Southern California’s Association of Energy Engineers, and was a former president of the American Society of Heating Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers – Southern California Chapter.  In 2018, Mr. Chude was awarded the Golden Eagle Award at the Cal State LA Alumni Awards Gala.  

Ricson Chude holds a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the California State Polytechnic University of Pomona, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the California State University of Los Angeles. He is a licensed Mechanical Engineer in the State of California and is recognized as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), and Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) from the Association of Energy Engineers.
