Program Description

Do you want to release pain, anxiety, bad habits, and remove negative emotions, limiting beliefs and obstacles to success? Do you want to reprogram your subconscious for better thoughts and behaviors, and greater "mindfulness?"

Learn Self Hypnosis to Transform Your Life* is a two-day Saturday course available exclusively at Cal State LA Downtown. Designed for individuals with an interest in self-improvement through hypnosis techniques, each session will include a lecture and discussion with presentations and easy-to-learn exercises that will help release negativity, improve focus and build motivation and confidence, allowing you to develop your personal strengths.

Attendees Will Learn
How mindfulness releases stress from the body.
How guided imaging can reduce pain.
How Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) can change negative thoughts and moods into positive ones.
What "pattern interrupt" techniques can accomplish.
How to transform internal dialogue to overcome limiting beliefs.

About the Instructor

Photo of Dr. Debbie Covino

Dr. Debbie Covino is a Master Clinical Hypnotherapist, certified through the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners. Dr. Covino is uniquely qualified to help people discover the connection between early life experiences and conditioned patterns of thought and behavior. She has been on Los Angeles talk radio stations, and has spoken to diverse groups about the importance of self-care and well-being. She is the creator of the "All Day Hypnosis" audio programs. Dr. Covino received her doctorate in English language and literature from the University of Illinois

How Does Hypnosis Work?
Lecture and Discussion
The subconscious mind and the physiological and psychological components of hypnosis.
 
Exercises
Understanding the influence of the subconscious mind on our thinking and behaviors.
What is Self-Hypnosis and How Does it Work?
Lecture and Discussion
Emphasis on self-hypnosis as a component of wellness and well-being.
 
Exercises
Group practice with self-hypnosis scripts. Individual goal setting for personal improvement.

Session Two

Session Two | Saturday, October 13, 2018
Course Outline
How we incorporated self-hypnosis into our week.
Discussion
Students share their experiences with self-hypnosis.
 
Exercises
Alternative self-hypnosis scripts for particular conditions.
What are the differences between hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis?
 
When might personal hypnotherapy sessions be helpful?
Lecture and Discussion
Learn how to distinguish between these two forms of hypnotherapy.
